COACHING UPDATE!
Coach Whit and myself (Andy) have been bringing Coach Cam up to speed, so like our other coaches, he is ready and prepared to coach some classes solo. Coach Whit and myself are in the final stages before he stats taking some classes with more responsibility! We are excited to have him. Welcome him and ask him questions, help him coach you and help him find footing as he gets use to running classes solo! You will find solo him at 5am and 12:15pm to start, once we make the call! Congratulate him when you see him! I know he is really excited!
GOAL BOARD
For those of you that are newer members, it is time to establish a few goals for the year!
Every year after the OPEN we clean our goal board and make room for what’s next in out journey!
MEASURABLE-OBSERVABLE-REPEATABLE
These are the metrics that show increased fitness.
-M -Run a mile in a faster time than last year
-O -Build muscle to back squat 175LBS
-R -Beat my last “The Chief” score
These are just some examples you can use to get ideas. Ask a coach to help you out and plan to see a clean board next week so you can add your goals!

OPEN RECAP
People who want the best for you, want to see you win, even if it means you beat them in the process.
One of my favorite things about this community and this OPEN season was watching you all cheer for each other.
It was the best OPEN yet.
Now, short story long. Thank you to all the judges. Thank you to all the members who competed, cheered, helped with weights and heat set up, etc. Thank your friends and family for taking time to come support you!
Our coaches have watched you plan and prepare for this OPEN. We saw you get stronger in weightlifting. We coaches and cued you with gymnastics skills. We talked about nutrition. BUT, you did the WORK! This year what we saw was enhanced attitudes and confidence, competitive mentalities coupled with lighthearted fun and a lot of FUCKING WINS!
PULL UPS! CHEST TO BAR PULL UPS! BAR MUSCLE UPS! DOUBLE UNDERS! HANDSTAND WALKS! HANDSTAND PUSH UPS! YOU NAME IT, SOMEONE IN THE GYM GOT BETTER AT IT.
Remember the the OPEN isn’t the end all be all! It doesn’t dictate who you are as an athlete.YOUR SCORES ARE SOMEONE ELSES DREAM SCORES, and it could be someone from out community! This is now my seventh OPEN I believe and every year I spend a little less time saying ” I could have done better,” while feeling sorry for myself. This shit happens to everyone. Don’t forget that CrossFit teaches us how to deal with diversity, not only out in the world but, in-between the ears also.
Before my dad passed he would say “get out of your head kid, it’s a bad neighborhood.” he’s right.
You all did amazing. You did exactly what you were capable of. Here’s to next year FAM! Love y’all!
QUARTER FINALS
Currently we believe we have at least 6 athletes who have finished the OPEN in the 75th percentile or greater, of their age bracket. THIS MEAN THEY HAVE ALL MADE IT TO QUARTERFINALS! Stay tuned for official results from CrossFit HQ and for details on QF competition as it is held once again in the gym!
WE SURVIVED THE OPEN COMMUNITY PARTY
Saturday @ 3PM we met up @ HOB Dunedin. We drank, we ate and we were merry! WE talked CF and all the other important things too! It was really cool to see how all our members mix and mingle. You are all always so welcoming and inviting. thanks for being awesome humans. As we grow in numbers, continuing to host these types events is one the staples that keeps our community as amazing as it is.

ONCE WE REPLACE THE SHOWER STALL NEXT WEEK EVERYONE WILL BE REQUIRED TO RINSR OFF BEFORE PLUNGING TO KEEP THE WATER CLEAN!
YOU NEED: clean clothes to put on when you enter the plunge, we are not getting in the plunge in our sweat soaked underwear! Keep it clean for yourself and the next person!
The plunge is a great pre workout idea – 30 Mins prior to class.
